What is Vendor Managed Inventory?

    Both parties review in-stock rates, fill rates, inventory turns, and waste metrics on a recurring cadence — typically weekly or monthly — and adjust parameters such as safety stock targets, lead times, and order minimums accordingly.

The model works best when both sides have reliable data infrastructure, clear contractual service-level agreements (SLAs), and a defined escalation path when forecasts miss.
