THE CLIENT

In 2023, TracFone, the prepaid division of Verizon Wireless was participating in the federally backed Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) through its SafeLink sub-brand. Compliance with the government-supported program required certain staffing levels in all areas where SafeLink was being offered.

THE REQUEST

SafeLink is a lifeline communications provider - which means it functions as the primary, or even the sole, form of voice, text, or data communications, especially for people facing financial obstacles. The government staffing requirements were designed to ensure that enough qualified sales and support personnel would be available in stores and through other channels to assist prospective customers with signing up for the ACP as well as for a prepaid or subsidized phone package.

In short: TracFone had to add hundreds of employees in a short period of time a target of 600 employees in multiple states, with an average EPH of 0.65

THE RESULTS

The nationwide program began in September 2023 and was scheduled for a 6-month run through March of 2024. In just 4 months, T-ROC became the company's 2nd largest 3PL.

From September through December, T-ROC produced an active headcount 521 employees, of including front-line sales people, district managers, and regional directors.
The program generated in sales over $7.1 million in sales over 6 months.
At the program’s peak, T-ROC was generating $1.6 million per month.
26,580 customers were enrolled into TracFone’s SafeLink program during T-ROC’s contract period.
Out of 521 employees, only one employee was removed for poor performance, and fewer than 5 employees needed additional coaching or redirection to meet performance standards.

As a best-in-class third party labor provider (3PL), T-ROC doesn’t simply hire employees; we pre-screen all applicants and administer pre employment training as part of any deployment. Our agreement with TracFone also included a zero-tolerance  policy for fraudulent sales or sign-ups by any employee.
