THE CLIENT

Walmart needed a reliable 3PL Partner for in-store assembly services. As an existing client for more than 10 years, T-ROC has been a top-tier provider for Wireless Sales (Prepaid and Postpaid), RFID, Brand Ambassadors, Merchandising, and Overnight Resets.

THE REQUEST

Walmart needed a comprehensive team of assembly specialists for dozens of different products, including bikes, grills, patio furniture, small indoor furniture, desks and office furniture, toys and games, and more.

It was essential that assembly be completed to the specifications of each manufacturer, with the highest concerns for safety and performance as possible, all while delivering timely service with minimal delays to customers. Previous assembly technicians through the client’s own teams or other 3PLs had not been able to meet this benchmark and the reputation for this service was damaged, leaving additional revenue uncaptured.

T-ROC would need to demonstrate consistent quality and excellence in order to make assembly a strong profit center for the brand.

THE T-ROC SOLUTION

T-ROC began servicing Walmart with a test market of 62 stores in Virginia with 30 assembly technicians and 4 managers. Now, T-ROC is set up to service over 400 stores each month, across 26 states, with 20 managers and 140 assembly technicians.

THE RESULTS

Walmart did not have specific goals or performance metrics when they first began Assembly Services with us. However, T-ROC already has strict programs in place to evaluate the efficiency and quality of all of its team members. We shared our platforms for tracking this data with the client, and then worked together to set agreed-upon benchmarks.

During the initial test marketing phase, T-ROC was able to lift efficiency among assembly technicians to 80%... but didn’t stop there. Currently, over the past 4 years, with additional training and constant enhancement to our processes, T-ROC assembly technicians now average above 130% efficiency with average customer ratings for quality at 9 out of 10 or better.
